Ekatherina S

Ekatherina S. (b. 1965) is a Russian born German citizen working in New York. Her work is displayed in museums and art galleries worldwide. Galleri Pingvin has been her representing gallery in Scandinavia since 1999.

Ekatherina S. is a very special human being in many ways. She is an artist, philosopher, mathematician, physician, chessmaster (Leningrad Chessmaster 1990), and among other things – a humanitarian. Her life’s mission is to utilize her many skills, focusing on Unity and Dialogue, to make the world a better place to live. Her images are full of energy and colour, painted in an expressionistic, symbolic style. She gathers inspiration for her subjects among physical laws, religions, mythology and philosophy.

Ekatherina S. is a modern kind of hippie who believes people should focus on love and fellowship – not hate and differences; when people are in love they are filled with strong and positive energy. They find it easier to rise in the morning, become more productive, tolerant, and better at prioritizing. People simply become better human beings when they are in love – and everybody has love stored in their heart. Find it and hold on to it!

Ekatherina’s background and education are quite unique. She was born and raised in St. Petersburg (Leningrad). At the age of ten she was accepted into the Art School for Children - an elite art school for gifted children. She studied there for six years and received her diploma as top of her class. During that time it was discovered that she was a mathematical genius as well, and has since devised several mathematical formulas. She graduated with top honours from the University of Leningrad with a degree in computer science. Moreover, she studied two years at the Art Academy of St. Petersburg (she was a member of the 7 Glasnost Artists) and four years at the Art Academy of Düsseldorf (where she was "Master Student" under Chief Prof. A. R. Pench).

Ekatherina S. is a humble, charming, religious, anti-materialistic extroverted woman, whose passions are love, female rights, justice and modern science. She is passionately interested in every new breakthrough of modern science, and is determined to create the formula Einstein himself did not manage - where you have 10 dimensions instead of 4 - something that can express the total world situation.

In her opinion all religions are, in the end, simply dialects of a one and only religion. "The similarities are many - why then make so much hate and hostility because of some minor differences?" She is also strongly convinced that the concepts of God and modern physics-energy-science are the two faces of the same coin - and that we all are part of the same divine energy. We just have to believe in it and find our way to it.
