Marika Lang

Marika Lang (b.1961) is Scandinavian's most colourfull and positive naivist. Life is not only made of taxes, terrorism, AIDS and drug problems. There is so much to be happy for - and that is what I want to show in my art. All the tragedies I leave to my colleagues."

Marika is from Sweden. She lives and works right outside Gøteborg. She is considered among Sweden's most popular artists and is constantly used in public decorations and illustrations.

Marika's paintings shows normal humans in everyday situations, painted in a naivistic style with lots of colours.

In 1997 Marika recieved the prestigious Masaryk award - a culture prize that is handed out once a year in Praha. Pavarotti got it because he can sing, Havell because he can write books. Marika Lang got it because she creates happiness and optimism!!

To say it this way: If you are sad, try a picture of Marika Lang!
